education of new zealand youth in social and political issues concerning them.

Youth Organised and United (YOU) is a political advocacy group that has been set up to give youth a voice that communicates to decision makers and media. We are a group who care about both young people and politics, and especially young people in politics. We want to be able to represent New Zealand youth and their diverse range of beliefs and issues. We feel that youth aren’t involved in the political process because it isn’t made relevant to them. As a consequence they are all to often disregarded. By representing youth accurately we will make the word “politics” relevant to the beliefs that young people have about the issues that affect them. When this happens young people will be more engaged and active in the determination of their futures.
